Fate and Destiny
Along our life path there is both fate and destiny. Some events are fixed, while others are changeable by our own free will and the capacity of our skill sets.
The fundamental fate of all creatures on Earth is death. Whatever is born will die within the neverending cycling of time. Each of us will grow older and then one day our heart will stop beating and our breath will cease flowing. This is our universal fate on Earth. Yet, we all possess the free will to choose our limited responses to our fated situations.
On the life journey to our fated end, we have the free choice to change the direction of our path. Although we are all limited within the fixed karmic boundaries of embodiment in the physical world, we can learn how to make the journey be filled with love, joy, and freedom from suffering.
Our fates and our choices both direct us on a trajectory of painful or delightful experiences moment-to-moment. We either move toward the harmonic center of health or toward disharmonious destruction by the actions of our nutritional diet, our dynamic posture, and our thoughts and words. Skillful choice moves us on the path toward harmonic growth and expanding self-awareness, while unskillful choices lead us toward self-destruction. The student’s path is a process of learning how to transform fate into destiny by choosing a path of increasing freedom and away from the suffering associated with the conditional limitations of embodiment.
The general personality and constitution of the person, which is reflected in the astrological natal chart, is understood as fate. Yet, within the boundaries of fate we have the freedom to choose the direction in the path, then fate becomes destiny. What seemed to be an obstacle becomes a gateway towards evolution. Everyone can have a higher destiny or an elevated level of vibration in heart-body-mind that is cultivated through intelligent practices over years.
To consciously create our destiny requires day-to-day disciplined training of the heart-mind-body. Without regular, meaningful life practice, we default to our unconsciously programmed fate. If there is no impetus to change our normal path, then we simply follow our fate. In Sridaiva, our divine destiny is self-created each day as we choose to create harmonious thoughts, a more balanced posture and a full heart of love. The path of awakening can be skillfully traveled each day through the cultivation of inspired willpower, technological knowledge, and self-love in the practice of the Bowspring. Over time the body and mind evolve as the student’s wisdom grows.
Through disciplined, mindful practice of the Bowspring dynamic posture each day, we gain the freedom to create our own destiny. Without cultivating this awareness of our body-mind we grow older each day in ever-deepening unconscious patterns of posture, emotional reactivity, and misperception. Conversely, with a regular mindfulness practice we gain expanding health and harmony on our destined life path.
