The Path of the Student
On the path of life, each soul ultimately seeks freedom, love, and happiness through self-awakening and creative expression. Yet the path is not linear or without periods of reversing direction. The soul’s journey is on a spiral path of spiritual learning. Life is a neverending evolutionary process of alternating periods of spiritual awakening and spiritual sleep. There are periods of time in which a soul experiences the joy of remembrance and discovery of Truth, and then there are dark times of spiritual forgetfulness and inner blindness, which lead to suffering.
The ‘learning curve’ of the student is a wave pattern of alternating periods of active practice and resting assimilation, day-to-day over months and years. With desire to become a more skillful student each day, there will be growth of harmony, wisdom and love in the student’s life. Things regularly improve as the student learns to be more skillful on the path of awakening.
Over time, day-to-day and lifetime-to-lifetime, the student has continual opportunities to learn about him/herself and his/her interconnection to the world and the universe. There is always something new to learn and a new artistic joy to experience. The student never stops learning and growing. The path of the student is neverending as wisdom and the joy of self-knowing only grows through repeating cycles of darkness and light of awareness over a lifetime. The path offers continual opportunity for evolving knowledge and spiritual advancement. The soul’s path of self-awakening is eternal.
